Invisalign® is often the treatment of choice for patients of ALL ages desiring mild to moderate orthodontia without the hassle of traditional metal braces. About Invisalign®
Invisalign can be used for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without metal braces. This innovative system uses clear, removable aligners to gently reposition the teeth without causing damage to tooth enamel, gum tissue or TMJ.
Invisalign is used to treat a variety of orthodontic concerns including:
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Crooked teeth
Invisalign® vs Braces
Studies indicate clear braces can lead to improved dental hygiene during treatment compared to traditional metal braces. Because Invisalign aligners are removable, you can brush and floss teeth normally and enjoy your favorite foods and drinks, unlike traditional metal braces which can be difficult to care for and often trap food particles between the braces and teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of an ultra thin, ultra clear, hard-soft plastic. Most patients wear a series of aligners for approximately 2 weeks each, completing treatment in 6 – 12 months.

Invisalign® What to Expect
Dr. Spink will give you an initial examination to determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. If it appears that Invisalign is an option, we will take photographs, x-rays, and an impression of your teeth.
We will then complete further diagnostic analysis to verify that Invisalign will work for you and create a treatment plan that will determine exactly how the teeth are straightened. At that time, we will be able to let you know if you qualify for orthodontic insurance benefits and the estimated cost and length of treatment.
When the treatment plan is complete, your records will be sent to Invisalign along with Dr. Spink’s instructions. Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign will translate the instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners.
You will wear each set of aligners for about two weeks. Each set of aligners will gradually move your teeth closer and closer to the desired result. You will need to wear these aligners all the time except when you are eating, drinking, or cleaning your teeth.
